The 8th Annual AIG NYC Rugby Cup
is coming to Randall’s Island on June 6, 2015 !
We’ve hit our stride with the AIG NYC Rugby Cup – last year 72 teams competed in this all day tournament, including a Elementary, Middle School and All Girls brackets. This year we’re upping our game by adding a High School Flag bracket for the first time ever! In celebration of the Rugby World Cup in England later this year each school will adopt one of the competing nations. They’ll learn more about the country, its customs and its rugby history and create a banner with their new knowledge to display throughout the tournament.
For the eighth consecutive year Randall’s Island will be swarming with positive energy givers in the form of rugby players, fans and volunteers. This culminating event provides a chance for our kids to get active, compete as a team and showcase the skills they’ve been mastering throughout the school year. They also have the unique opportunity to socialize with students who may come from vastly different neighborhoods and backgrounds, and find that they have something in common – a passion for rugby. The NYC Rugby Cup is more than just a tournament – it’s a Community Building Project!
